I just absolutely love this picture. The knee deep snow, the body language of the puppet, the snow on the duck, the presence of the duck, the light suggesting at a setting sun, behind the puppet... I can't imagine a way to improve this picture. Thank you for posting this.

Nice shot - very colorful and nice focus... The lighting itself of the camera, though, is a little too dark - just a touch. The way the lighting in the shot is, though, it would probably be difficult to get better lighting on the camera. A nice shot overall, and deserving of a high score.

I gave this shot a high score because I thought it was clever, even if people outside of this forum might not ever get it :) But we're not worried about other people, so that doesn't matter. You did a good job on the focus and capturing a computer monitor, and have a nice themed color with everything having a blue look to it. Good job.

Holy Cow! The highest I have ever given a photo is an 8. I have to give this one a 9. There's good, and then there's so good that I don't even know what is going on. I could never in a million years figure this one out; hopefully, you'll write up a description for the "learn" section of the forum. It looks like you reflected the bottle onto your screen or some such, and then blurred it somehow - maybe by shifting the camera and using a slower shutter? I have no idea what I could say about this one that would be of any use. Nice job! :)

I feel like I could say this for a lot of the current photos, that if I listened to the "gripers" on the boards, I'd be recommending most of these for disqualification. But I like this picture, and think you captured something really strong, even if the camera angle isn't so dramatic as to give you whiplash :) Your colors are beautiful and you have decent texturing on the rock. I might suggest zooming in a bit more on the water, as that seems to be the stronger focal point. It would also give more dimension and make for a more powerful image. But definitely, good job overall.

I had a feeling that there would be more pictures in this style, because it has such a fun appeal to it. There weren't, so that makes your stands out more, especially since it is so well done. The starry night background is fantastic and very fitting. The lighting on the subject is well-done, in that it fits the theme of the picture, but somehow it seems distracting. Maybe it's because the light is too intense on his right arm where it bleaches out the image. I would have given this picture another point if you had gotten the foot in stronger focus, and dropped the lighting just a notch. Aside from that, great job.

I think you have your focus reversed on this picture. The focal point of the picture IS the kite, but I think you need your up close string to be very focused and detailed, and the kite can afford to be blurry. The clouds as well - I'm not sure why you have them as sharp as they are. They look nice, but they're just a touch of sharpern or two removed from perfect, and have crossed over into distracting. The same goes for the rich blue sky... just sharpened one or two times too many. This picture is well composed though, and very creative, so that adds a good bit of points into it. Nicely done :) and fun, too!

Hmm... some things came out well on this photo, and some things didn't. The looking up portion for the challenge is perfectly covered. The color in the picture is great - nice reds, blues, and greens. You have some great detail in the plant, with even a bit of fuzz for show on the tips. I don't like the cropping on this image, though. Your sky is plain (not your fault, obviously, unless you had multiple nice days to attempt this shot) and seems to show off scratches (perhaps from your lense??)... As well, the bug isn't really in focus. I mean, the image is sharp and detailed, not blurry, but there just is no real sense of texture to these objects, or depth. It's a good picture overall, don't get me wrong - there just is room for improvement.
