Vertically Challengedby myqylComment: I'm not sure I see too much despair in this picture. I think the small person is enjoying themselves too much. |

Low energyby calypsoComment: I don't get a feeling of despair here. You may be low on energy, but you have a solution, what is there to despair about?
As a picture I like the composition having the solar panel in the foreground, and the depth of field is good having the background a bit soft. The pointing finger, however, is distracting. I keep looking over to the right to find what is being pointed at. I realize that it's not pointing, it's pushing a button, but because the button is so dark compared to the hand, pointing is the impression I get. |

Money Can't Buy Happinessby jodiecostonComment: It's a good image that does seem to fit the challenge. Two things don't seem quite right however. The shape of the hand suggests to me that the container should be above the hand, or possibly still loosly held, and for some reason the fingernails are attracting my attention because of their dark colour. |

Please Don't Take my Mousie Again!!by kandyjComment: It's a very good picture of the cat, but it doesn't meet the challenge very well. I don't see despair here, I see a contented cat. In fact this would have done well in the Stock Photo challenge- I could quite easliy see this ending up on a cat calendar. |

need it...!?by neoathematrixComment: Perhaps it's because I'm male, but a toilet, regardless of condition, doesn't represent despair for me. It's more likely to repesent a sense of relief!
I like the harsh nature of the lighting, and the angle does make it a more dramatic picture. |

Huddled In The Cornerby inspzilComment: This is very effective. You have managed to capture the feeling very well with a sad looking kitten, isolated like this. |

Buddy, can you spare a dime?by ArtifactsComment: I think it must be me, but I don't get a feeling of despair from this. It's probably due to the gentleman being upright - standing tall. The grain effect is appropriate for this image, but the sepia tone doesn't feel quite right. I think it's because sepia is usually the colour of old photos, but this has very modern elements in it:- the buildings, wide empty road and the shopping trolly. |

There's always work!by ebuelnaComment: I'm not sure how this implies despair- maybe I need to know what the business is that needs help. Technically I find the bright spot at the top left to be distracting. |

Despair? No Dream, No Hope!by rj324Comment: I think that if you had made it slightly darker, it might work a bit better. As it is, to me, it looks like the light at the end of the tunnel, saying there's always hope. |
