Off to Play by LouisaComment: *Hello from the Critique club*
First Impression: aww that̢۪s just adorable. Lovely colours and very clean and smooth shot.
Composition /Background: The effect of the bright pink and the earthy green make this image powerful and a live. You display nice use of the rule of thirds and also depth of field. The focus is right on target.
Post Processing: Borders are very debatable, I for one like them but when I submit in here I try (not doing well though ) to keep away from them since users have widely expressed there dislike. Colour and light are right on target for me.
Challenge: Since this is a mix and mach challenge it hard to view the photograph from the challenge point of view but looking at the brown ribbon you choose, the improvement is clear even though the original wasn̢۪t all that bad. There is one thing I think you did wrong, when the challenge basis its submissions on other photos, I think its best to put the original image id somehow in your title, this helps the voter find the image and gives you a rating according to how much better your photo is :) that would have worked in your favor here.
Overall: Cute, sweet and bubbly.. well executed and technically very well done! I think the only thing missing here is the umph!-factor, something to make it pop out , be a bit more interesting for the voters. Don̢۪t know how you would do that but for me it looks good just like it is.
I would have voted 8
Happy shooting :)

Looking For Prey (Tilted Challenge)by DrakeComment: *Hello form the Critique Club*
First Impression: wow that̢۪s a really big bird! A good shot of the bird there is no doubt about that and a capture you can be very proud of.
Composition /Background: I think this part is the biggest flaw of the photograph, it̢۪s composition dosen̢۪t have that wow factor needed to pop it up, it̢۪s a bit to centered and the sky is some what grainy. A basic rule of thirds might have worked in your favor here or maybe trying to crop a little bit closer in on the bird.
Post Processing: This is a shot that surely dose not need much post processing but I think slightly more contrast would have made it that bit better. And again I̢۪m not sure about the crop of the image, either to tight or not tight enough.
Challenge: Some people in here are very strict on meeting the challenge, since the brown ribbon you base on is an image of a guinea pig and you submit an eagle.. I think that might be the source of most of your under 5̢۪s. In challenges that refer to other images I believe it̢۪s better to put the original image id in brackets in your title to help voters find it.
Overall: People here on DPC are used to such unbelievable eagle close-ups, images you can̢۪t imagine how the photographer was able to shoot. Your photo is a very good shot of a really beautiful animal, but voters have seen a better one and are there for very quick to judge.
I personally would have given it a 8, but if I take the brown ribbon in to count then 7.
Happy shooting :)
