I can see what you were going for with the selective desaturation, but I don't feel it's necessary. Being that the kid clearly has a fix on the man with the keyboard I think the viewer would have picked up on that without the post processing as it is. Either color or black and white, but the mix doesn't work for me.

Average random shot with over post processing to try and make more out of a shot that doesn't have flow through the image or a subject matter that will hold the viewers interest (even though she's kind of cute)

What keeps this from being a 10 from me is that the man is tucked into the truck... had we seen him looking at the shot or walking to or from the truck he'd have added that last little bit of umph you'd need to push this into 10 catagory. Not sure why this image is on the wall but it's a great find with good post processing.

Seems I've been commenting most about this... crop crop crop. I'm feeling a lot of people are afraid to crop out distractions from their image. First thing my eye goes to in your shot is the top of the shot where the signs are. Do we need these in order to feel the emotion toward the guy at the bottom. The two elements compete and I barely notice him down in the shadow.

What do you want this image to tell the viewer? How does this engage us or make us spend more than 2 seconds voting on it? Is there something here that you see or feel that you want me to know or is this a picture that technically meets the challenge so you entered it? Yes the woman behind him has some interest with her head down and I can wonder what she may be thinking, but overall the image falls short of being meaningful to me.

Taken while you walked past? Overall the image doesn't pull me in or relay a story. I see a man sitting on a bench and you walking past hoping to snap a pic without being seen. Engage the subject or change your position and it may have been a stronger shot.

Not sure what the woman is doing, but the ship and kid in the background along with her standing in the mouth of the shark makes for a surreal image. This is interesting and the more one looks at it the more it feels like a painting that should be hanging in an art gallery. Wish her hand was down, but that's not within your control while shooting the shot.

This is probably an image that may have worked better in color. The muted b/w conversion as well as the centered subject and square crop leave the image a little lack luster.

To the speed voter you'll prolly get a low or average vote, but if the person spends any time appreciating the textures, lighting, and shadows along with the crop and post processing, they'll realize that this is a very good image. I'm not usually a fan of centering the subject like you have, but with the environment they're in, it works well.

Good capture and is very emotive. Only thing I would suggest is maybe boosting the contrast just a little.
