Coca Colaby BAMartinComment: I keep thinking that that bird is looking at you for help in getting his money back, as the stupid machine has eaten his quarters and not given him a coke! There are some wonderful elements to this that really make me smile. The tilt of the shot (OMG, it's not level, DNMC DNMC!!!) adds a dimension of oddity that fits with a peacock (or some other such bird)in front of a coke machine beautifully. The processing, for me, is a bit heavy as you reach the bottom, but parts of that I also really like, such as how grungy and dirty the floor looks; to achieve this but keep a bit more detail in the tail would be my preference, but I don't know if it's doable, and "cleaning up" the floor might "ruin" the shot to my eye. I love the papery, delicate feeling the processing gives the machine, and one thing that caught my eye was the almost crystal clear "thank you" near the coin slot. For the "story" or reaction I had to this, that clearness works really well in an ironic (or more likely quasi-ironic) sort of way. Neat shot, right place, right time. |

Flowers for Lillie Mae, Foreverby elemessComment: Perfect capture, just enough detail to bring the point across, but not bash the viewer in the face with it. Perfect, really. Nothing more to say. |

Morning Dewby DejaComment: I like the extreme sharpness on the top petal, with the lower petal a bit (but just a bit) softer in both light and focus; great flow here, too. |

Hanging out in suburbia.by HollywoodHoebagComment: Heh, with the title, this made me smile (thanks). They really do hang out in suburbia, don't they? Watching the kids head off to the mall; I love the car in the back, it's needed for context. Excellent. |

Fall Fervorby jenesisComment: A flood of red, not of blood, but of beautiful change, of descent from autumn into winter. Good use of depth of field and well composed. |

"Autumn Fern" New Englandby holdingtimeComment: They look tired, getting ready to rest for winter, the leaders preparing to settle down, with the rest (still green) to follow. Nice. |

Fungusby Amel_GComment: Looks like a frisbee that was thrown too hard and got stuck in the tree; nature's strange, isn't it? The shot is good, good tones in the B&W, with nice detail. |

EGGcellent Flowersby macleodnComment: Good use of depth of field, and the softness in the subject itself fits with the gentle colors. |

Flora(l) Viewby AVPComment: Good use of colors and lines here, directing my eyes up to the soft focus area. Nicely shot. |
