| 02/12/2008 10:18:51 PM | Poxby xianartComment: Christian, my daughter is just finishing up with "the Pox", but what you've done here is fantastic. You have captured so much more than just an image in time, a record of a rite of passage as a human being, you have actually captured the feel of the disease itself. Drab, peeking out from the depths of our world, of our history, our evolution, for a week of our lives, then moving on to someone else (to many someone elses), always drab, always gray (or grey, if you prefer), always with the feel you've captured here. Wonderful. Hope the sprog is fully recovered by now. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/09/2008 11:50:53 AM | Simply redby MelethiaComment: There is a definite softness here, not in processing, not in "focus" but in feel. It moves me across the image, but always brings me back. It's quite delightful, and I bet would make an awesome print. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/09/2008 05:17:37 AM | May the Circle be Unbrokenby purpleflutterby13Comment: Stunning. You've captured the ether; are the gods aware? They're not going to be very happy, you know. First you capture fire, over and over again; then beauty is captured of you by firelight; and, then this: the ephemeral, caught, trapped, allowing those of us who are unable to see it with our souls to see it with our eyes. Yes, I might be drawn deeper in if the tree on top was dark black, pure shadow against the soft skeins of color in the 'tweens, but it is quite lovely as is.

| 02/09/2008 04:11:49 AM | ONEby electrolostComment: You've shot the beastie from the back: how dare you! There aren't pretty colors throughout: how dare you! The horizon is *gasp* tilted! How dare you! I love this, not because there are technical "faults," not even "in spite of" the "faults", but simply because I find it intriguing, and all the elements together -- darkness, light, processing, composition -- heighten that intrigue for me. I'm glad you shot and processed as you did. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/09/2008 03:46:43 AM | Sunset Stormby WildcardComment: As I see this, three worlds are coming together, about to merge. One is water and land, grounded and solid; the next stormy, dynamic, unpredictable; and the final is blue and white, peaceful, genteel even; only with the storm can the lighter than air blues be merged with the solids below, only with the storm can the three parts become a whole. And you've captured it . . . wonderful. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/08/2008 10:03:33 PM | Hairby ChinarosepetalComment: This is an astoundingly good image. I keep looking at it and seeing nuances, movement, depth. Shadows that I know were moving are still, those that were still, move. I can't quite see it all, no matter how much I look, there's always more, and I can't stop looking (nor do I want to). Delightful. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/08/2008 12:11:14 PM | pirouetteby krnodilComment: I'm not in your group, and you already know what I think of this, but I have to say it anyway. It sings to me when I see it, a lovely melody, without a hint of discordance, without a hint of tonal flaws. It just sings, and I love its song. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/08/2008 12:07:32 PM | The Winter Sundialby HipychikComment: Such soft light, but even better, such wonderful shadows, hidden here and there. Under the boat, in the clouds at the horizon. You really have to search, but they're there, with secrets, and memories, and just a tiny hint of anger. I hope it's not me they're angry with . . .. Delightful earth tones throughout here, wonderfully composed, wonderfully seen scene, and yes, a respectable score that still shows it wasn't fully appreciated. More people need to look for the shadows. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/08/2008 12:01:01 PM | watchingby RetroesqueComment: There are so many ghosts here. Ghosts don't do well on DPC; people don't like to see ghosts, it brings up too many of their own. But there are so many here. In the TV -- it's not plugged in, I looked for the power cable, but it's not there. So, either the picture is a ghost, or the tv is a ghost, showing images without electricity. And then there are the ghosts in the windows of the house. Ghosts of a place where everyone has been, but no one lives. I love your work, but just remember, not so many ghosts next time. Ghosts don't do well on DPC . . . | Photographer found comment helpful. |
