Blush and Breezeby PaulComment: Great job with the exposure here. Not blowing out the highlights and maintaing this much detail in the textures on your mostly white subject is very difficult to accomplish. |

May 01 - White dead netlleby hajekaComment: Nice macro work to get the detail of the thorns and the fine hairs. As you mentioned, imperfections in flowers are hard to avoid. I keep searching and searching for flawless flowers to keep from having to do so much cloning and healing brush work in post processing. |

Daffodilby stargazer05766Comment: Yes, I definitely like the backlighting of the white petals against the dark background. The backlighting created an interesting, complimentary pattern to the petals where they overlap. Spot on focus too. |

Baskets full of posiesby PikkelComment: I like your bold attempt at thnking 'out of the box', but I find myself wanting to see more of what might be spilling out of the basket. This is almost like to images combined into one in which my eye moves back and forth from the foreground subject to the colorful flowers in the top of the photo and can't decide upon which to rest. The use of a tilted horizon is very interesting and adds a lot of drama edit to add as does the use of selective desat. Message edited by author 2009-04-30 22:52:12. |

Golden Girlby PikkelComment: That's a beautiful flower that you captured there, along with the lush green foliage. Good focus on your subject. I would like to see this shot with a tighter crop that keeps all that I just mentioned but cuts out the distracting elements in the background in the top and the upper left of the image. The striking yellow flower against the dark green, flawless foliage would be an awesome combination. |

Onionby rlewisComment: Wow, nice depth of field and clean, non-distractng background. Good use of the rule of thirds with the subject in the right third and the out of focus complimenting flower in the left third. One possible improvement would have been to 'weight' the bottom of the image by composing so that there is more space at the bottom of the image and less at the top. |

Some Border Actionby pixelpigComment: Quite a collection of ornaments! This was definitely a challenge in exposure with the mixture of white flowers, black background, and ornaments everywhere else in the range of lighting. The ornaments stand out nicely against the dark background, but the white tulips are completly blown out. I don't know how to overcome this difficulty other than to suggest possibly trying HDR. |

The starting pointby MaggyeComment: Wow, that is cool how this choice of subject contrasts the before and after of the flowering process. It appears that the shot is a tad oversharpened. The is evident with the haloing around the lower right purple bloom and the detail in the shaft of the same flower. |

UNTAMED SEASby Gordon_1Comment: Image tilted to the left, post processing halo of some type around the cliff, very soft image, and the white bar on the right side of image really bring down the score. Nice choice of location for a dramatic scene. |
