Day 1 - Monroe St Bridgeby meyersComment: cool bridge I like the detail in the railings and the control tower is very interesting.
suggestions for improvement (IMHO) maybe go a little the wider I'd be interested in seeing more where the path goes. |

Day 1, On the Drive to Work.jpgby IvoryComment: I really like the dreamy quality of this image. The tree was a good subject and I like the way that you made it stand out from the rest of the photo.
Suggestions for improvement (IMHO): the spots in the top left corner are a little bit distracting. The same goes for the sky in the bottom right-hand side of the tree -- the colors seem quite different in that area and quite a bit darker. A little bit more detail in the snow would have brought it all together a bit more as well. |

Redoby KatmystiryComment: big big improvement. Still a little bit dark and the bottom but overall this photo is much improved. Good job! |

Moon Rise 2 1 07.JPGby MelonMusketeerComment: very pretty sky and nice vantage point. I like the way the moon is peeking out from the clouds.
Suggestions for improvement (IMHO): I would probably crop the bottom half the photo off so that you don't have the half lights in there. Instead of a tripod perhaps a beanbag or something like that would've worked to set the camera on. |

Day 2.5 - Stopby xXxscarletxXxComment: magenta, Magenta, MAGENTA!!! J/k ;)
You have got a lot of talent and are putting that D80 to good use :) I really like the composition. The grittiness really adds to this one too.
SfI-IMHO: Over the "ING" and "WAY" of the sign it look like you used the burn tool and there's a bit of a soft dark line there that gives the sky an odd feeling.
I can't believe you're on day 2.5 and I haven't even shot day 1 yet! |

Day 1by renegade1966Comment: Nice color rendition and clarity - especially in the center.
Suggestions for improvement (IMHO): It's too centered and focused on the sign. I'd shoot it a bit wider to get more of the building in. |

Feb 1 my favorite tree.jpgby JerseyGenieComment: I like this shot. The tree is interesting and the fog adds a layer of mystery to it. The reflection really compliments the tree as well.
Suggestions for improvement (IMHO): Seems to be a little tilted to the left. The fence is nice but takes my attention away from the tree since it's so much clearer. |

Day 2 - The Road To Nowhereby xXxscarletxXxComment: This has a HDR feel to it. I like the depth and the mountains in the background. Another fitting tile might be "the road to nowhere". I like how the road seems to just kind of end at the trees. The overall dirty / gritty feel to the image works to your favor as well.
Suggestions for improvement (IMHO): There's a bit of a vignette on the photo I'm not terribly fond of. The power lines are a little distracting (but I know, whatcha gonna do). There's a little bit of magenta in the mountains I'd maybe take out. More than anything I'm just being nitpicky though to try and add something helpful ;)
Edit: ya know, I took a closer look with my color picker and I think my new monitor / eyes have been playing tricks on me 'cause there isn't any magenta in them mountains. Message edited by author 2007-02-01 19:25:47. |
