I feel the "domed" thing on the right is an important element for this image to work properly, therefore it should have been handled as if it was important rather than cutting it off. Shooting closer to the building will have strengthened this image if you felt like you wished to get more emotionally involved with the subjectl

This shot is very interesting but I feel that the forground is a bit dark. This may work for you in the eyes of others because it seems to add the the heavyness and forboddingness of the building. But for me it is a bit of a distraction.
