Congratulations Catherine. This photo is amazing! It's as if you handpicked the colour for the background. I love how its blurred just right. The bird itself is exquisite! Radiant colours, sharp focus, magnificent tonal range. I love how the brightness is just right yet there is all those black blacks giving everything detail and structure. Well done!

great photo - nice tonal range. interesting subject matter. the expression on the man's face really adds something. I think there's too much empty space up the top - a tighter crop leaving just some of that interesting tree at the top would have been better.

The man really portrays the username here - I like it. I think it would have been better to hide the sun behind one of the buildings - its just causing too much mayhem.

great colours - nearly a rainbow of them. this needs levels or curves to get the blacks a littel blacker and lighten the whole thing up a bit.

good attempt at capturing fire in action. This is a nice setup - I like the pasta words on the plate - they've arranged well. The photo as a whole though is very grainy. I'm guessing you made the plate dark so that the fire stood out but I think you've gone a little too far - the camera needs some light to "see" - otherwise the noise comes through instead. More light also makes it easier for the camera to focus. Also, if you play with levels or curves or similar, you can increase the tonal range of your photo - instead of having a narrow selection of greys, you can have blacks, a huge range of greys and whites. Great idea. That blue is a great colour. There's a mysterious yet calming sensation about this photo. I looks like you've blurred the clouds/sky which gives a good effect. The only thing I'd like to see different is more sharpening on the ends of the trees - I think the blurring/noise reduction has done a number on them too. A strong unsharp mask would do wonders here I think.

Great photo! the green and orangy-red colours compliment each other. There's great detail not just in the horse but in the grass and clouds. The horse is positioned well in the photo. I like the little animals on the horizon - they suddenly jump out at you. The only thing that could be better is the very hot left part of the sky. Unfortunately, it distracts for the rest of an otherwise brilliant photo.
