Refugeesby e301Comment: You have created a mood and a story very effectively here. I like the light in the distance, representative for me of the hope that these people have in their destination, leaving the darkness behind. Great photo. One of my tops. I do see some graininess in the forground head that I'm sure was unavoidable, but detracts a little in my opinion. But such is the reality of low light photos. Good work! |

Passing Throughby shutterphunkComment: This is a very pleasing picture. On the one hand, you've captured darkness and the oppressiveness that is often associated with it (without going to the extreme like so many of these photos in this challenge), and on the other hand, you have successfully included a sense of hope, light, innocence that makes this photo the winner in my opinion. Well done!
...Do I sense a ribbon on the horizon? |

Apples Are To Eatby shutterphunkComment: WOW - this is a really lovely image of anticipation and childhood innocence. The apples to the left contribute to this theme of expectation with the light on them accenting the anticipated arrival of something. Very powerful and sweet. Hey, wait a sec. That's my son! |

Witherly Churchby chloeclogsComment: Good effort. I like the use of reflection in your photo. I wonder if you moved the shot to the left, and got rid of the the houses and street lamp whether it might be a stronger photo. Was there a reason for including these houses? They do add perspective, but perhaps the strength of the church's architecture on it's own might be enough (along with the well captured reflection). Nice pic. |
