One of the best interputations of the challenge (for me)... I FELT the emotions a child would feel as soon as I saw it... Very well done... The dark cookies are tad too dark (for me), but otherwise a great shot

Find the Pencil
by #1 Bronco Fan

Comment:
Nice lighting and I like the texture on the rug... However, the pencil looks like it was addedd to make the picture of the jersey fit the challenge... This isn't so much a photo of a pencil with a jersey in it as it is a photo of a jersey with a pencil in it... I'm considering giving you a sympathy point since the Broncos looked so bad last night against the 49ers and this might be the highpoint of your season... PS ~ My wife (a Bronco fan) says the old uniform was much better...

This is an example of a wonderful shot that I just can't make a connection to the challenge with... On a technical scale without the challenge in mind, I'd give this a 7 or 8... But I have to take 3 points off, cause I can't make ANY connection to the challenge here. I'll come back and look again later and see if I'm missing something, but for now it's a 4 or a 5... Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'll call it 5. Please feel free to PM me if you think I'm missing something big here (outside of the title) MyQyl

Ok, took a while but I see it now... I think the problem is the coy look too happy... Popping you back to a 7 :) real nice shot, just hard to interpute

dof is too shallow here. The texture of the left third of the photo is just gone. The subject didn't do much for me either. But that's just me

The fact that this shot got 5 votes of 1 shows there is something fundementally wrong here. Not to take anything away from the winners, but you had the best shot this week.

I must confess to dismissing this image prematurely in my first viewing... I said "another dang soft focus of texture"... I admit, I was wrong... This is the one photo this week tht made a shallow dof work FOR you instead of against. I think I would have liked it even more if the dof included that small patch at the very bottom... Kind of a 'sharp up to the cat' thing. Also, did you consider moving the cat (easier said then done, I know) to the 'third' point? This may or may not have been an improvement, just wondering if you considered it... Bumping you 3 points to a 7... Hope everyone takes a second look
