footnotesby cheleComment: I loved this photo and would love if you would share some of your processing details. I'm sorry it wasn't shiny enough for the dp masses to place it higher. :P It obviously reached a lot of us though, so kudos. |

Admiring The Viewby WildcardComment: Nice shot. I love the blurred background that shows enough to be pretty, but keeps your focus on the subjects. It would be nice if you could see profiles of both of them. It would also be nice if the tree branches framed both sides of the image (if that was even possible) - I find them a little distracting just barely poking into one side like that. Nice shot. Good luck. |

My Ancestorsby GiorgioComment: I like this one. I think it would also look nice in a sepia or B/W maybe with some fairly obvious dodge/burn to the sky to really make those clouds dramatic. The fairly muted tones you've got here are nice too though. |

Flight by jemisonComment: Wow, that was definitely being in the right place at the right time. What a wonderful setting for the balloon festival! |

Horsetail Fallsby LucidLotusComment: Nice light. The water is maybe a touch overexposed, but I'd take that over having those details in the stone underexposed. I really like the way the tree is part of the image. The crop on the splash feels a little tight.
Is this on the Eagle Creek Trail in the Columbia Gorge? You don't need to answer that, I'll check back after the challenge is over.
Nice job. |

A great expectation (8th of January 2006)by TOYComment: A somewhat of a cliche shot, but for very good reason. What a great image to have to look back on. A beautiful first page for the baby book. :)
I think the lighting is excellent here. I love the shading that emphasizes the fullness of her shape. My criticism would be the appearence of the elastic marks from her clothing. (I assume thats what all those little vertical lines are anyway...) She should have worn a robe for an hour or two before posing for this so those would have time to fade.
Otherwise, it's very beautiful and emotional. |
