ah an appleby johnnykidComment: What a delightful photo - the full frame of bear is quite a find. I wish I could actually see the apple - I wouldn't know that's what it was unless I saw the title. The composition is a little distant and the center of interest isn't quite defined but I'm sure you didn't want to get too close to frame it optimally! |

Bee - flower - nectar. Could this be chance?by BlueDragonComment: A lovely photo - the colors are wonderfullly rich and the fuzziness of the bee is quite a treat. I'm not sure it fits the challenge - a bee finds nectar and flowers because that's what they were born to do. But I can identify with the delight of watching one and how that can feel like a happy accident. |

Hammered Bolt ?!by s4nd3r99Comment: An intriguing shot. The composition is good, but the exposure is a little too yellow/orange. The concept of hammering a screw is an odd interpretation of serendipity - I'm not sure it fits. I'd like to see the whole hammer head in the frame, or cropped more at the top, as it is now, it feels a little off in balance. |

Blythe Boutiqueby johnmComment: I'd like to see a bit softer light on this and maybe a wider shot with some more context to ground the character of the figure. The colors are really nice. How does this fit into the challenge? I'm not quite getting that part. |

The sun smiled down at me todayby trainComment: This photo really engenders a sense of surprise - how a person could just be tripping through the park and turn a corner and see this, which feels like serendipity to me. I wish the contrast was a little crisper and maybe the framing of the balloon shifted to the right just ever so slightly. But this is definitely in my top 10 for this assignment. |

The Age of Innocenceby KaliComment: I like the concept of this shot quite a bit and the colors. The child's face looks like a doll - the contrast is a little too great - though the muted dreamy/nostalgia colors work well. The composition is nice, with the line of the puddle pointing to the girl and the large expanse of raindrops. |

From the Hip.by the-O-sterComment: I think this is a very interesting shot. I wish some part of the person was in focus though (the brow, probably). I like the candid nature of it and the quality of the exposure on the black and white. I'm not sure how it fits into the challenge but it is compelling none-the-less. |

serendipitous waterby shutterflyComment: A very interesting and compelling abstract. I had trouble relating it to the challenge but I liked the colors and mixture of shapes. |

Looks more fun than shoppingby redmoonComment: Is the serendipity of this photo that there was a race car in the mall? If so, I think I would have liked to have seen more to show the setting of the mall itself to help me place it better. The yellow of the car is wonderful. I'm not sure where your focus on the composition is, though I don't mind the motion blur of the passersby since that makes an interesting statement (people in motion, car not). |
