Great picture lousy headline. Not in its meaning, but that saying would never be a headline in a newspaper.
I hate to score down for title however this challenge almost demands that we do.
I gave you a 7 whereas a good headline would have scored this an 8 or higher.
That said,this is an fantastic picture of human emotion and struggle.

In my top 5 It is very reminicient of a Newspaper shot. Headline is good , the grain... I dunno if you added but most modern day news photos are not grainy.

WTG on your personal best. I liked this photo it was simple yet effective, clear and well focused.

What it lacked for me was the Wow factor so it holds little interest
I scored it a 7 as did 35 others :-)

How to make this photo better... I dunno, cause if I did my scores would be higher too. ;-)
But I might have been inclined to place a dusty footprint on the plate.
or partially in the dirt an on the plate.
