The Nomadby kosmikkreeperComment: I like the idea for this picture and the background is great! The focus on your subject seems too soft here though. And I probably would have gotten the camera lower to get a closer shot on your subject and keep the interesting lights and reflections in the background. I think the flash could either be a good thing to balance the color cast from the lights, or a bad thing taking away from the overall mood of the picture. I personally perfer natural lighting when possible, but this is definitely a tricky shot to get the white balance right. But it looks like the pole your subject is stiing in front of became the focal point in your camera's AF. That's one of the tricky things about night shots is getting the focus right!! Good luck! 6 |

Hungry? Have the best!by jmleliiComment: I think a tighter frame from just the "Geno's Steaks" up would have made for a more interesting shot and take some of the choas from the bottom away - my eye wonders around a little much there. But I think this is quite good for such a busy picture! |

Bridge + Lakeby stphwComment: I would love to see this without the sign, but what an amazing picture! Great leading lines and interesting subject. The green tint is ok, but I think I may have liked this better as black and white - not sure though. Either way, wonderful picture! 8 |

Roupell Streetby e301Comment: I like the repeating patterns here, howeverI think another point of view - like from the side of the building to give more leading lines would have made this a more intersting shot. The sign is blocked by the lamp and is distracting. The exposure is good, although it could have been sharpened and contrasty a little more to bring out the texture in the bricks and window frames better. My humble opinion... 5 |

40mm Forehandby Zed PobreComment: more backlighting would have provided more interest here i think. it took me a minute to figure out what was going on, then i made out the ping pong paddle, net and arm in the background...but it isn't easy to see (at least on my monitor) |

Wood Pigeonby BooZonComment: Cool picture, I'm sure you get a lot of "not minimal" comments though. But I think it fits fine. It would have been nicer without the branch that crosses behind the bird so my eye could make out the silouhette of the bird a little better though. But a very "Zen" like picture overall. |

the sailboatby visaksenComment: The sail boat just does not stand out as the subject in the picture. I would have used "the bench" as the subject, it provides more interest to my eye than the sailboat does. I think the picture of the tree and bench is quite good! So I'll just rate the photo on what your strongest point of interest is because I like it better anyway and it still fits the challenge! 7 |
