Interesting that you included the shadow for color. Great lighting and strong contrast but I think what hurts this photo is a bit too shallow DOF. I'd like to see the entire grasshopper in focus, hind legs included.

Photos of other photos, is this allowed?

Artwork. Literal photographic representations of the entirety of existing works of art (including your own) are not considered acceptable submissions, however creative depictions or interpretations of "art" are permissible. This includes, but is not limited to: paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, computer artwork, computer monitors, and televisions.

I love this photo! Strong contrast, the lighting, the emotion.. very powerful. Excellent choice to leave the reflection in color, almost leaves you wondering which is reality. You should score highly with this photo, my pick for top3.

Nice and sharp! You've found Nemo! Composition is a tad boring though being smack dab in the center, almost looks copy/paste. Perhaps offsetting the fish or having its tankmates (assuming there are other fish in there) in the frame as well would make it more interesting. Capturing the fish in midturn or feeding also helps to make the fish look more natural instead of a static image.

Nice attempt, but I don't think the ladybug is brightly colored enough to scream attention or grab focus, even if everything else around it was selectively desaturated. Perhaps much more contrast of the floor, blowing out the highlights and.or overexposing it would help it to "pop out."

Other than that, technically a good photo.

Beautiful photo with the butterfly in sharp focus (at least the top half). Interesting to choose the flowers to be colorized, I would've chosen the butterfly but that's what makes this photo different. Selection of the flowers under the butterfly seems a bit "loose" as parts of the background were left out when desaturating.

Very interesting photo and composition but the amount of color in this submission is a bit too subtle to be effective imo.

Interesting concept although I find the heart on the t-shirt a bit distracting. It ties in nicely with the red theme but I think it would've done fine if it was desaturated as well. The red border looks fine on the bottom half of your image but looks a tad distracting going across the model's face. My $.02

Contrast appears a bit harsh and lighting overexposed. Not sure if it works for this photo. Also, I'm not sure if the shadowy grain on the right half of the face works as traditional portraits appear to be soft and flattering. Image appears soft overall with no definite sharpness other than the eyes, which are still not as sharp as I'd like them to be. I believe the flowers should've been sharper for this submission as coloring them still doesn't take my attention and focus away from the model's eyes.

Interesting composition but I'm not sure I like it. I feel as if this is another photo that does poorly with or without selective desat.
