I noticed this picture with a great DOF usage. The blured background altought seems to be PSed. But I really noticed an error in your material description. You put Canon 18-55 f3.5-56 as your lens and the apperture like f2.8. But... Given the astonishing backgound I really concern about this is a real apperture you had used. What was the correct lens used?

Too much CA! Very simple subject that dont show's very clearly the challenge theme. Use harsh light directly in your camera with care. It's burns your sensor, produce many flares and washes you contrast.
