I noticed this picture with a great DOF usage. The blured background altought seems to be PSed. But I really noticed an error in your material description. You put Canon 18-55 f3.5-56 as your lens and the apperture like f2.8. But... Given the astonishing backgound I really concern about this is a real apperture you had used. What was the correct lens used?

Love the way you make the shot not look like "a rail line shot" casual!! love the perspective and composition!!

this is just unbelievable.

i'd love to know what kind of lighting, if any, was used?

goes to show you that you don't have to be shooting with a 5000 L lens to get tack sharp images ;)

perfect idea for the single line project. the reflection for the first finger is right, there is no nail reflection on the railway but reflection for other four finger is wrong I think. there would not be nail reflection on the railway.

Unfortunate title (only because I'm about done voting and have seen it several times) but this might be my favorite of all the railroad shots. Original idea, well executed.

My top pick on the railroad track shots for this challenge. *grin*
Perfect choice of footwear and the toes, composition and reflection make this a top contender. The tilt was a brilliant idea. 10

there are a lot of candidate to the ribbons in this challenge. i think that is one of that. as personal opinion i don't like the shoes but, of course, it is only a personal opinion, but probably with other type of shoes the shot should be weaker. the composition is perfect and the reflection on the track add something to the image.I like even the post, without too much frills probably, except the standard regulations, only a more accurate blur on the background. 10

I guess you'l have some people argue that the line isn't the subject of the photo so much as her foot, but I love it. Cool idea, great framing - 9

Nice shot.. I like the angle on it

Best of the rail lines because of the added interest. I wonder if a little "off" perfect diagonal might have looked a little better?
  Photographer found comment helpful.
06/23/2008 05:56:42 AM
Maybe you'll bump in to the other guy walking the line and you can live happily ever after! :) I like this one better. There are multiple lines, i.e. the ties, undergrowth, and tries, that are giving the main line context and depth.

Probably the best of the lot. Great job - creative. Love the tilt.
