An off camera spot light / flash on girl could give a stronger subject. The circles give a nice leading pattern.

Good contrast between rough and smooth. Maybe too much pure white space (ornegative space?) in the wrong place - needs something to anchor the upper left corner.

Original, with remarkable texture on normally smooth butter - good lighting to show it off. Although the woods in the background fits in rustically, I find their patterns and glare distract from the main subject - I'd prefer something darker and blurred (like a flower macro shot).

Good dof and lighting on the mouse. The texture in the towels distracts from the subject though.

Good idea. Maybe adjust the lighting for more shadows on the cactus surface, or backlight the spines. And a blury foreground is usually distracting.
