"SURFER GOES MISSING!" right after taking this photo.by djscarrdComment: Doesn't work for me. Too bad the sand isn't in focus. The waves look good. The headline needs something, I'm not sure what. In the center of the picture in the middle of that wave, is that the surfer? If so, he/she's quite difficult to make out. |

Ray of hope shines through Swing loss - Snappers 4, Swing 0by RiderGalComment: Not sure how the pic illustrates the headline -- what's the ray of hope? But...the picture is very good, and what makes it great is the ball stopped in mid-flight in the upper left. Good focus, DOF, etc. I just don't quite see the connection of this particular headline with this particular picture. 7 |

Flooding Continuesby weavercComment: I like this shot, good for the challenge, and I suggest perhaps cropping out some more of the bottom of the picture (maybe an inch or so). The pic is a bit dark, as well, you might try boosting the contrast? But overall you met the challenge well. 7 |

Walked away, heard them say "Poison hearts will never change"by artvetComment: I don't like your headline (as a headline), but I like your photo a lot. I like that you cut off the tops of the bodies of the passers-by, keeping them even more anonymous and generic. The b&W is nice and gritty and the part that's blown out is fine. Good contrast. I'm thinking the focus is just a bit soft. 7 |

Local Man Wins Rogue Trail Race Seriesby GordonComment: A very good shot (did you use a bit of fill flash?) and my only complaint is that in this shot, he doesn't look like he's winning anything, as in -- where's the finish line? But that's my only complaint. A fine photo. Love his expression, and I like how you cropped the shot. 8 |
