Princessby JudiComment: Stunningly flattering portraiture here. The composition suffers some, I think, from that blurry hair in the lower left corner, and I think you might capture the essence of the "princess feel" more with a white background instead of a black one, but as is this is still solidly an 8 for me. |

"Dark and Twisty"by saphireComment: I like what you're trying to do. Keep working at it, though...go for greater contrast and shallower shadows on the face. |

Sexy ladyby whiterookComment: I hate to sound like a thoughtless critic, but what was the point of this shot, exactly? It's thoroughly unengaging. |

Savin' Meby L1Comment: Are those costumes, or did you actually convince the local police to pose for this? That's an incredible accomplishment in of itself! |

Dance Dance by Fallout Boyby JeffryZComment: Lovely shadow work here. You know what I would have actually experimented with? Try cropping the actual monument out of the picture and play with contrast in just the shadow itself, with generous white space above it. |

It's Snowingby MulderComment: Wow...interesting that you would choose to focus on the subject's TEETH instead of the eyes. I give this a 6 for creativity, even though the composition is not very striking to me. |

A last minute portraitby agenkinComment: Last-minute though it may be (it certainly feels impromptu), I think this really works. The backlighting is lovely, and the positioning of the subject and her shadow is perfect. The only blemish: a distracting line of sunspots. Use post-processing to clean those up, and I think you have a real winner here. 7 from me. |

Oh My ~ Look at Thatby ladpupmoeComment: Black and white is the perfect realm for a shot like this. It really highlights the duotones of these kids' uniforms. |

Joanby lahernComment: The post-processing on this helps it tremendously, taking an otherwise mundane and mediocre snapshot and capturing the "mood" of the shot and creating a work of art. Very finely done. I'm having a little difficulty ascertaining whether the subject is smiling or crying, though...probably because the eyes are obscured by her hair. I find the ambiguity intriguing. 7 from me. |

24/7by Rob OComment: I know it might have been difficult to convince the viewer that it was a laptop in the foreground without the Dell logo on the bottom, but I really feel that the crop being so low seriously weakens the impact of this shot. 6 from me. |
