Great angle, and I like how the sun is behind, making the shadows draw you into the centered subject. This photo also captured my attention since at first it looked like he was dressed up in scuba diving gear.. must have been the sunglasses that looked like goggles. It was surreal for a while before I understood that this was a normal scene.

This is actually kind of a scary photo, although that probably wasn't your intent. I think it's the cutting off at the top, and darkness that does it. Reminds me of a horror flick.

Without the "message" behind this photo, this might not have impressed me, since the coloring could be improvd. But putting together the overall composition and the intent, this image rises above most of the rest here. And it's slightly humorous. I like it.

The textures and colors and choice of lighting here are all magnificent. Centering in this case was a nice choice. The contrast and extreme detail within the meat of the fruit is captivating. I'd really like to see a large, high-resolution version of this image.

The off-centeredness throws me off a bit, but overall this captures the food so nicely that I have to rank it high. The food looks delicious and uncommon, and the depth of field and colors make me hone in on that flavor-encrusted, sharp food. It really is appetizing.

Genetic variety

I like the sharp and complex details in the whole image, and the color scheme adds a unique old-time feel. The husks add a lot to this image, I think, too.
