Challenge: Wacky Foods (Basic Editing I)

Ingredients
Spicy Apple Salad
* 2 small green apples finely sliced
* 1 carrot finely sliced
* 4 cherry tomatoes halved
* 1 tbsp of dried shrimps
* 1 tbsp of crushed peanut
* 3-4 chilli (optional-I put 8 in this)
* 2 garlic cloves
* 2 tbsp of fish sauce
* 2 tbsp of lemon juice
* 1 tsp of palm sugar
Deep Fried Drumstick
* 2 mieduim drumsticks
* 1 tbsp of fish sauce
* 1 tsp of pepper
* 1 cup of flour
* Water
* Vegetable oil
Pandan Rice
* 2 cups of jasmine rice
* Pandan essence
* 1/2 cup of coconut milk
* salt
* sugar
* water
* Fried onion
Direction
1. Marinate drumsticks with fish sauce and pepper for 1/2 hour.
2. Put jasmine rice in a rice cooker, add water just for the rice level then mix coconut milk, 2 drops of pandan essence, a pinch of salt and sugar. Mix well and add water to the level of the rice cooker instruction. Turn the rice cooker on.
3. Pound chilli and garlic then add fish sauce, lemon juice and palm sugar into the mixture to make dressing.
4. Mix together apples, carrot, tomatoes, crushed nut and dried shrimps.
5. Mix flour and water then coat the drumsticks. Deep fry in vegetable oil.
6. When the the rice is cooked, set the drumstick on the side with the salad topped with the dressing. Garnish the rice with fried onion.
It was simply cook it, shoot it and eat it.

| mmmm this looks yummy..I like the composition, maybe could do without the plate of food behind it, but it's not a big problem. I think with a wee better lighting it could rock, or maybe it's just because of resizing that it looks off. |

| Creative and very well executed! Sharp. Nice interesting but not too overwhelming background. This looks like something from a quality cookbook. "Wacky Foods" cookbook at least. |

| My only suggestion would be to focus on the single plate and the wine and forget about the plate in the background. Since the foreground is so much the focus everything looks centered this way. Just a little different crop would make the image much more powerful IMO. |

| The off-centeredness throws me off a bit, but overall this captures the food so nicely that I have to rank it high. The food looks delicious and uncommon, and the depth of field and colors make me hone in on that flavor-encrusted, sharp food. It really is appetizing. |

This could be a terrific table top photo, unfortuenately, your depth of field falls off before, rather than after the rice...

| sounds and looks very tasteful to me, don't understand what is wacky here, but it is sure not everyday. some slight loss of detail in the rice. |
