Sky on Fireby postoakinversionComment: Interesting take on the challenge. I love the colors and the cloud mass is amazing. I like how insignificant it makes the shoreline look and that's a very nice contrast - well envisioned. Though I can see this fitting the challenge in an abstract way I think, per the challenge description, that there should be actual fire in the images and so I am compelled to dock from this otherwise lovely image. I gave a 5. |

Fire Requiemby wildirisComment: Explosive. Love the color and the chaos. I also like the organic swirls the fire creates. The border helps moderate the space so I don't get pulled out of the image. Only downside is the focus isn't sharp, not sure whether complete sharpness is possible but I wish the flames were a bit more defined. I gave a 6 |

Feet!by BakerBugComment: Nice clarity, great action and the lighting though a bit harsh has been controlled well for the most part. I do wish more was available for the man's face but what can ya do! Looks like he's having a blast, nice capture. I gave a 6 |

Mexican Veniceby Gaby_GComment: Interesting scene. I love the color and life in the image. There seems to be some harsh lighting and possible overly upped contrast? Not sure there's a strange hardness to the image that I'm not sure its the result of. The composition is nice and I do like to see slices of places I've never been. I gave a 6 |

Old Ironsidesby pamelasueComment: Definitely meets the challenge and has a potentially interesting subject. The lighting seems a bit muted and so there are a lot of details on the train that are being missed. The focus looks a bit soft/mottled as well - this could be because of the lighting too. I think the composition is good, there's a number of areas for the eye to rest on but I think the low light doesn't enhance that aspect. I gave a 4 |

The new Sun Chips CRTby aliquiComment: I'll come straight out and say that I don't like this in terms of something I"d put on my wall. I do like that you did a more daring PP than is often seen in challenges. I like the vibrancy of the colors and the focus looks good. I think I'd prefer the image was cropped more, crop out the black car and the yellow line on the far right. Its an interesting take on the challenge and while I don't find the overall affect very appealing I'm glad I saw it. Bumping from a 4 to a 5. |

...and so began grasshopper's voyageby dragonladyComment: Meets the challenge, has some good focus and nice composition. Would've liked the leaf to be more centered in the corner so the bit of black at the bottom wasn't showing. The lighting is nice and bright but it feels very harsh to me. The colors are nice, perhaps they've been boosted though? They have a slight unnatural feeling to them. I really like the idea behind this and its been rendered very well. I gave a 6 |

Daddy - The Sweetest Name in Transportationby aimeethetooComment: very nice emotive image. Classical look to it, I like the lighting - though bright in the trees. The sepia I'm not so sure about. Would be interesting to see this with other tones applied, B&W, maybe a blue or a richer brown/red. Not sure if any others would necessarily work but though I do like the representation of the different shades of brown I'm not sure if the flatness of the color overall is a plus to this particular image. There also seems to be a weird.. crease? of distortion/artifacting running through the center of this image. No idea if that's just issues from uploading or if I'm the only one to see it, but it is distracting (no other photo I've seens so far had it though). Regardless I gave a 6 over all. |

Wheels from the pastby PeterPicComment: Great clarity, very nice detailing, the light is a bit harsh and bright, but it did allow for the details of the wheel/wagon to come through. I think the composition needs a little bit of a fix. The wheel looks rather cramped and is cut off in places, wish it were more prominent and intact. I do think the grass adds a nice bit of color that breaks up all the brown, but it also draws the eye away from the subject. Overall I gave a 6 |
