Find him? Nah. You? Who me? No you. Me? No him. Me? Yeah you - find him? Nah. Who? Shut up.by BradComment: Heh, cute idea. When I saw this in thumbnail I would've sworn it was a herd of cows all with their heads cut off.. it was bizarre looking! I think the lighting is good and the colors are nice. Good contrasts shown. Maybe a bit too busy with all the cats, could probably lose one or two and still have the same effect. Don't like the border at all, almost overpowers the image instead of simply framing it. I think this is an interesting take on the challenge and was put together nicely, but after determining there aren't any cows in the image I don't find much left to hold my attention. I gave a 5 |

Honey, I Shrunk the Steve!by banmornComment: Lovely flower, funny figure. I like the color here, the lighting is nice as well, though I wish the image was just a bit sharper over all. The little man is cute and definitely grabs my attention. I don't think it enhances the photo in general at all but it does go with the whimsical side of this challenge. I gave a 5 |

You can see lots of things in clouds...by freakin_hilariousComment: Ha! Took me awhile but I finally see him! Definitely got me invested in the image, though only long enough to find the face. The cloud formations are nice which adds interest. I like the richness of the blue and there is some nice form deliniation in the cloud shapes. I like the idea behind the addition of steve's face, but I do wish that the cloud shape was retained.. as in the bumps and crevices were still evident so it looked as if the face was form-fitting rather than blotting out. Dude, Where's My Carby ShaneBlakeComment: Nice composition. I like the play of colors as well, kind of wish there was a bit more of the yellowy orange in it though. The title is cute, never saw that movie.. wonder if its worth it. Anyway, a few nitpicks: Cutting off part of the feet, slight softness in the horizon.. and that's about it. I gave a 6 |

For in much wisdom is much griefby LevTComment: What an excellent tribute to your father. His face is so expressive and detailed and you've captured that without being pandering. Looks flawless to me. Caught my eye immediately when you posted it in the B&W thread. |

The Truth About StDavidson's Disappearance by De SousaComment: Ha great story here. I love images that have something to tell, and this one does in spades. The lighting is interesting, I like that its very bright inside but not as much 'outside'.. definitely enhances the feeling that we're peeking in on something she'd rather we didn't see. I like the anonymity of the image too. You could've gone the route of the woman seeing that she'd been found out but I'm glad you didn't, this keeps my interest as I wonder what happened and what she's doing instead of reacting to her reacting to me the viewer seeing her. The colors are nice, everything goes well together and while there is pop with the dress its just enough to break up the subdued colors without being a distraction. My nitpicks would be the feet, the light is way too harsh on them so they've been relegated to a blob of pointy white. Normally it wouldn't be a huge deal but since they are rather important in enhancing the story being told, it is noticeable. Also, I'd crop the top, bottom and right edge right to the door frame, I don't think it needs that bit of wall around it on those sides. That's it though, I like what you've done here. For your consideration!by graphicfunkComment: Heh, which came first the stdavidson or the egg? Surrealistic with a nice landscape in the background. Interesting presentation but its a bit too purposeful for me, which may not make sense.. its too rigid in its whimsy, everything placed just right. I would love to see something more obscure.. the ladder somewhere else in the landscape rising to nowhere, the egg perhaps not quite so prominent. Something that takes surreal by the neck and shakes it like a wolverine. I do appreciate the effort you made here though and think it works well for the challenge, just not my cup of tea. Gave a 5 |

Low tideby Rino63Comment: Some fantastic color play here. I like the perspective, though a bit higher would be great so there was more of that gorgeous emerald green/sapphire blue match up. The light looks a bit harsh - it seems like the contrast was upped a bit as well which may not be the case, but there's something rough about how the light is interacting with the rocks/seaweedy things that isn't entirely appealing. Still the horizon just draws me in and makes me wish I could see more of it. A lovely image. I gave a 6 |

In the Mountainsby LKMoteComment: Dramatic cliffs? Check. Beautiful sunny day? Check. I really like images that highlight interesting geological places. Very nice sediment layers shown. The control of the natural light looks good and the focus is nice too. I do wish I could see more of the sediment layers though and the hue of the surroundings is a little blah. I wonder how that looks with the pale light of dawn or warm brush of a sunset hitting it. The sun position makes the shadows fall across the face of the rock which is blotting out a fair amount of interest points, but its still a great image with nice contrasts between sky and land. Still Nightby madcrabberComment: Nice image. I really enjoy the peace and stillness of this photo. I adore b&w so this already has something great going for it out of the gate. The tones look good, perhaps a bit more contrast would make it pop just a little more. The focus and composition are good as well though I think more water would help extend that stillness factor (assuming a change in position would allow for that). I gave a 6 |
