I like this - I think it captures 'desolation' better than most images here. I think some people mistakenly thought desolation=isolation or dessimation. I would have liked to see more details in the image, perhaps this was a little under exposed, I'm not sure, but the ground seems a little too light. Overall, I like this quite a bit - good luck in the contest.
