Timber & Bricksby robsmithComment by e301: Yours Rob? Good. Everything I wrote before I still agree with, but just wanted to say that I wish there were a damnit--so-close-to-being-a-favourite category, as this is just a whisker of getting into mine. Just that edginess of texture not quite there ... Great work though, a memorable shot. |

Timber & Bricksby robsmithComment by dahkota: I thought this image would have done much better. You just never know what the voters are going to go for! Seems they really like pretty, sharp, color. Its a great image - you've got a great eye. |

Timber & Bricksby robsmithComment by Brad: The more I look at this, the more I like it.
You have a good eye for a composition / crop and like all the intersecting textures.
Good choice for B&W too. Had to bump it up a notch. |

Timber & Bricksby robsmithComment by e301: Very very interesting approach - arresting, in fact, as it has stopped me from expiring with boredom after the last twenty or so images. Excellent compositionally, good spread of tonality, and yet still easy on the eye. I would wish for a more intense level of detail, to bring this neo-modernist kind of composition more comfortably into a real world - it might add some depth to the overall view of this, rather than what I'm finding quite a simple image. Simple but good, that is. I'm intrigued to see whose this is. |

Timber & Bricksby robsmithComment by eqsite: You did a great job of capturing the textures, but with such a tight crop you lose the context of those textures. |

Timber & Bricksby robsmithComment by Barry: This is a very nice photo. I like how you worked with all of the different shapes and how they relate to each other. That being said, if it were my image I may have eleminated the bottom row of bricks. (artist call) 7 |

'The Rookery'by robsmithComment by mocabela: Very crisp and clear - love the diagonal line that dominates the photo. Exposure is great, colours are right on, and the focus is sharp throughout. Nice job! |
