I think the dog gets lost in the shadow... Maybe if the photo would be 4 times bigger (2x horizontal, 2x vertical) it wouldn't disturb me so much. When using such a small subject, I have learned during this challenge that using the rule of thirds can make the shot much-much balanced and pleasant. Try it some other time. :-)

I like the picture, its more colorfull than some of these in this challenge, but I know with the 3 challenges i have entered these people are very critical! So I was hoping to give you good critism, its good that there is color and sun is behind you, but in this picture just a little too much shadow. you can hardly see the dog, but otherwise it fits the challenge hes alone in the big backyard! I give you an 8.

The image is too small. Your subject is hidden in the shadows... it's actually hard to really tell the dog is even there since the image is this small. Overall, uninteresting unless I had some tie to the dog. = 2

Comment by Pidd:
The shadow is overwhelming and drowns out your focal point. Also, the dog being almost smack in the center of the photo gives it little artistic interest. Perhaps if it were bigger it would help but as is, it's hard to see this as much more than a snapshot.

Nice idea. Good composition. You might want to sharpen in photoshop it loks a little out of focus. 5.

I originally scored this shot very low and coming back to it and looking at it more closely I think I can tell you why. I like the concept, the sense of urban is very strong in this shot but the shadow cuts the picture and throws it off balance to me and the wires coming off the building to the right are very distracting. Maybe from a different angle, a different crop and this would have scored much higher for me. I am raising the score a few points from the original one I set but can't go too much higher. Sorry.
