I have always been fascinated by photography and it's ability to capture for my eyes what is otherwise fleeting. I've always been the cultural curator of my family and community, taking pictures, remembering and retelling stories. I shoot "old school", taking hundreds of images with both digital and my Cannon AE1. This allows me the luxury of choices and the ability to weave them into animated films. The photos I've submitted are glimpses into these extensive photostories.
I took extensive coursework in photography and was a photographers assistant. Although I've always collected pin-up art and done collage, it wasn't until I met my wife, a painter who used models for her work, that I turned my lens towards what may be an enigmatic goal, capturing women on film.
While the sensual quiet that I find in the style of many contemporary photographers is very appealing and muselike, I long to sear the film with the exuberance and humor that, in my thinking, is at least if not more telling of what is sexy about my subject, as Her generous figure exposed. I crave seeing beauties, that often don't know they are beauties, basking in the sun, smiling, playing up the aspects of their personalities that others may not see. Together we tell stories, secrets, and deliver punchlines.
