Challenge: Free Study 2012-02 (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Nikon D7000
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II
Location: Cottam power station, Lincolnshire
Date: Feb 18, 2012
Aperture: 3.5
ISO: 100
Shutter: 30/1
Date Uploaded: Feb 18, 2012

Thought I'd have another stab @ the power station shot as my tilted horizon did not go down well.

Slightly different this time, 30 second daytime exposure with my wide angle lens.

Beautiful and ominous. A great work of ambivalence.

I love this photo. I've come back to it over and over. Would I change a thing here and there? Yeah, I would. But that's not for me to do or say. It's awesome as it is and thanks for sharing.

Love the movement! Winds must have been howling looking at the angle! I like a good vignette. Here, I don't think the vignette really serves to create a focal point because it is a little thin and a bit too dark in the corners. It is tough because of the position of the subject in the frame. It would probably be best left off here or maybe a little lighter.

Unique shot, like the slow s/s. Could be in ZA? It's only steam :) Poor misunderstood cooling towers!

Great use of long exposure to really enhance the scene.

It's a beautiful image. The fact that it's beauty reached my consciousness much faster than my personal reaction against industrial (and nuclear?) dangers proves just how much your work on this image has captured my appetite for visually appealing photographs. Please accept my 8 for your photo.

There's some smoke stacks in Poca, WV that I want to visit, I was actually thinking about it this morning... and then seeing this picture just prompted me to move that location to the top of my list. It's a beautiful shot, even though smoke stacks don't have much beauty to them. Well done!

Great job on the way you captured the smoke/steam from the chimneys. Love the composition and the B&W processing. 8

Sometimes, industrial is just magical.
