Taken in the same place as which also got a Homer comment.

Wow! Exciting to get the brown on a best of the entire year challenge. I didn't think I had a chance. My score kept climbing the whole time from the low 3's to a 4.2. I figured it was growing on people, as time went on. I spent a great deal of time looking through thousands of pictures taken last year. I guess I picked wrong one. Thanks for all the comments, both positive and negative and to Ben for the award.

Shots like this remind me I need to break out the lensbaby more often.

And I thought this was Homer. Hard to resist the magic and motion of this abstract.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: I don't really understand this image and I enjoy how another part of my brain asks me why I expect to. I do quite like the colour palette too....

Critical stuff: Despite the internal dialogue this image promotes, I'm not a fan - even as an abstract I feel the image isn't effective for me - I think I'd have enjoyed lower contrast and higher saturation.

Overall: A challenging piece of work but not one for me I'm afraid.

The only thing I can see is a blurry shot, noisy and with the green right side that distracts the viewer - it doesn't work IMHO

intriguing abstract. it really does silently scream.

noisy, out of focus, no clear subject. If you were going for an artsy abstract, I'm not sure you were even successful at that. It's just a mess.

Interesting abstract. Very nice use of color, transitioning from one side to the other. Distorted enough so you can't really figure out what it was originally. Like the motion projectiles on the left side that keep this from being too static.

a rude interruption to what otherwise would have been a rather normal day out

the abstract doesnt really do much for me here...

I like this abstract, however it is rather flat. A boost in contrast and saturation would be good.

can't figure this one out yet. water colors work a treat. will have another attempt later.

that other attempt is not much better. what confuses me is the partial motion (zoom?) blur. anyhow, I'm leaving this aside, and enjoying it as an abstract.

You just made me feel better about my own entry -- in the sense that I have some company in this (clearly inaccessible) style.

I like it.

Sorry but abstract work has never appealed to me and there is absolutely nothing going on in this image that relates in any way to me, just thought I´d at least explain why I gave this a 1.

No idea what this is or what it is supposed to be, your either to smart for me or I am too dumb to understand what this photo is all about.
