I love that castle! It is a nice element to an enchanted forest scene....however, there is just something odd to it. With that big portcullis entrance I'd figure that it has open to a bigger courtyard. Looking closer it looks like you only included a portion in the image which is a shame because it is and should be your prime focal point. Play up the strengths - show it all! There are some other things that could boost the visual interest of the scene. First off - be careful of size differences. The common thinking is castles are big. Those leaves in the foreground are almost the same size as the castle. To make you audience believe that this is a fairy castle you have to put an element into the composition that would suspend our belief the castle is huge. A small person with wings walking up the walkway would do it. Or if not a small castle the leaves should be to scale to the relative size of what it would be in reality in comparision to the castle. Second, colors can be a strength or weakness to a composition. For me, I am getting a color overload of orange/brown. It doesn't allow the castle to visual pop in the scene. The castle 'becomes' part of the riot of browns and orange hues that dominate the scene. I wonder if making it B&W would have been better so that it would instead allow the eye to look at the contrasts between the elements (light and shadow) so that the castle takes a more forward role in the imagery.

I like it and don't like it but then again I do. I must be under its spell.
