Challenge: Indoor Macro Shot II (Basic Editing)
Location: Ontop of my desk in a mini "studio"
Date: Jan 24, 2012
Aperture: 57.0
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1
Date Uploaded: Jan 24, 2012

Taken with a d7000 and 105mm f/2.8 micro lens. Turned out to be surreal even without the editing. Personally, I love the rendered feel to the ridges in the dial. The object is a miny, telescope-like thing my mom gave to me when I was very little sitting in a wooden box. The gold color really came out nicely with the latch from the box and the eyepiece from the telescope standing out from the harsh light reflected off the brown leather handle.

I wish the foreground object was in focus... to me the image seems perplexing because of the missed focus. Also, no real subject here.

I'm not quite sure what I'm lookin' at here LOL. It's well shot though, I think the blurred larger portion detracts from the composition and focused area.

nice gold and good sharpness to the back, but with much of the frame out of the focus range, it starts to detract from what is in focus.

For me, the gold square section in the foreground wants to be the subject of this photo(due to the size of it), but because it's out of focus, it's battling for my eye's attention with the in-focus bottle thing behind it.

I'd like this more if the lighting was shining off the thing that is in focus. Perhaps the whitepoint is too warm as well for the black and the wood
