The underneath of my bathroom faucet. This was as low as I could get for the shot, because the sink got in the way.

Advanced editing would have been nice -- the hair on the left drove me up the wall, but I didn't bother trying to reshoot -- I had already done so many different shots just to get three possibilities, that I knew I'd never be able to duplicate this. I also couldn't get the background as dark as I wanted. On one monitor, I can see the pattern of the fabric backdrop (it was only about 3" away, so there wasn't much you could do about it.) But when I played with curves, it made other parts too dark. The good news is that on another monitor, it's nice and black! So hopefully most people are seeing that, instead. :)

The lighting on the drop was sheer luck. I put a flash very close and to the right of the faucet, and this was the only shot that had the star bursts.

I'm so glad that people liked the shot. I was very excited when I saw it. Not my normal stuff. :)

Seriously?? A blue? There were some really wonderful shots in here. 171 entries. I never thought a 6.8 would get a blue. Thanks so much! :)

p.s. Sorry about the title! I had a bad cold at the time, and it's what came to me when I submitted it. I was actually going to go back and change it, but I forgot. :)

The lighting was spot on. And I didn't even notice the hair till I saw you said there was one. The pic is very cool. I always have a hard time getting good photos inside. So nicely done.
