Recently picked up 49mm of extension tube to play with that coincided well with this challenge. I coupled them with my 55-250mm. In my box of geeky toys, found my mini RC Hummer (~1.5" long) plopped him on a 2 inch square with dirt glued down and a couple pebbles from outside + a landscape from a ski magazine. A mix of halogen and yellow/orange LED light was projected onto the car.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I have seen a yellow Hummer around where I live, so this made me smile. Nice lighting, like the use of a ski mag bg and pebbles and dirt to add some realism to the shot. Such attention to detail can add up to a lot here. Not usually a fan of frames but this one works nicely as it echoes the roof rack in terms of thickness and echoes the solidity of the truck.

My only real nitpick is, like bobnospum said, the lack of angle, and I think the crop is also a little tight. Cars are generally shot from a low POV and 3/4 profile, as it were, to the viewer; it shows off the lines of the vehicle to advantage.

Otherwise a decent shot and you clearly used a tripod to advantage. You can always reshoot following some of the advice given here and see what you think of the results. Good work, keep shooting!

Feel free to PM me,

Susan

Heh, cute use of lighting and background to setup a scene. Funny how the front wheel is so much smaller.

Cute, I had a nice chuckle. Perhaps a slight angle rather than a sideways view would have given the photo more impact.

Is that a "MicroMachine"? I like how you used the mountains in the BG (computer monitor?)
