2011 was beyond my wildest dreams: third in points and ribbons race, 1st in a freestudy, completely and totally unreal.
This year, I couldn't really think of any goals.
Well... that's not true -- there's so much I need to work on. I suck at portraits, my lighting knowledge is extremely limited, so I do have goals. They're just not fun, silly, dreaming goals.
So the only goal I have that's fun, silly, and dreaming is to get a squirrel back on my profile. :)
Thus, this shot was born.
I really wanted to get him holding a ribbon (a smaller one, of course), but he wasn't interested in that.
oh drat!! I just went to look for some outtakes to post, and I found one that I should have entered instead! I was in a hurry shooting this one, because we were leaving shortly for an adventure for night landscape, and we had a 3.5 hour drive ahead of us.
This should have been the entry, but I didn't even look twice at it.
I would have titled it "You love me!! You really love me!!"

Funny :) Edible reward?
It's cute. With my display calibration the colours and image quality of the two images do not blend too much. Perhaps a bit less contrast on the ribbon, similar DOF between the images, a slight reflection of the squirrel on the ribbon and/or some corrective layers could have helped enhancing the illusion. But perhaps you wished to keep it as it is.
