 So I am assuming here that fireworks are okay for this gallery since we didn't have that specific topic this year? I like that the "Celebration" topic can include a lot more people anyway and expect party scenes to dominate the top ten.

I shot this same annual display last year from a park a couple of blocks from home. I didn't want to hassle with the crowds this year and had a dog with me who doesn't like noise. So I wasn't that keen on shooting at all and only put up a tripod on my balcony at the last minute.
As it turned out, I liked the view this year from home better than the one I managed in the crowded park last year. So I thought I might as well enter something :-/

Well I won't get a swelled ego about a win in a gallery with just 40 images (where were all the party images I thought would win folks!), but I do appreciate the very kind comments and votes all the same- thanks all!

Oh, and my dog did okay with the firework noise too ;)

Congrats on the Blue Brent. You have to enter to win the race and you did so with a winner. Tops of 39 others bears no testimony of this not being a great shot.
Congrast also on the placing in the unoficial points race...we nipped you in the WPL but you got in before me in this race...lol. Great year for you
