A perfect day with a setting sun and beautiful model, my daughter.

[Jan. 6th, 2012 09:41:48 PM]

Received some good comments and I agree with the criticism. I had several photos of my daughter to choose from and well, I chose the wrong one as usual per my lovely wife. This was taken with beautiful late afternoon light and I felt like I had to include some of the beautiful blue sky in the shot. I'll post a better rendering in the post challenge outtakes.

Don, It's good to see you back around here...
This is an amazing image. The wonderful light, nice blue skies and, of course, a beautiful model so expressive! Totally underrated and should be in the front page, imo - got a 9 from me. Just trying to guess why the score wasn't higher, maybe the oof trees and branches are still too proeminent, distracting from the subject.

I think this picture is stunning. To get anything below a 5 on this is absolutely RIDICULOUS!

Hard to resist that light, ain't it? I've been known to drag my kids, unannounced, into the backyard at such times. Really nice. I like the low point of view too.

Probably it's just my taste, but I feel a much tigher crop could have worked better in giving her more presence. Or perhaps just a framing which would leave some space on the right for her to gaze through. But probably it's just me.

I like how you have kept the focus on her, but yet the background helps keep the focus on her.
