 Thanks for all the great comments, and the votes that put this in the top 10. I'm chuffed! This boat is docked just a mile away, so it was a natural place to go and shoot when the fog appeared suddenly, and somewhat unusually, mid-day, and we didn't know how long it would last.

Converted from RAW into Photoshop CS5 using Adobe Camera Raw. Image flipped horizontally then cropped on the left. Processed using Nik SEP 2. In the RAW image the fog was more pronounced. I had the choice of emphasizing the fog, and possibly adding more grain or increasing the clarity of the structures while keeping some of the feel of the fog. I tried both, and in this instance I preferred the latter.

Thanks. I like that slightly lighter area behind the shrouds and made sure to keep that feature during the processing. The sun was starting to break through. We, that's bear_music and me, were right to go to the nearest place when the fog came because unlike early morning fog which you can kind of predict how long it will last based on the angle and intensity of the sun, this mid-day fog only lasted a very short time.
