 Well the thing about vacations is you take loads of photos, and then you come back, view them and think "now which one for the f/s".
I had too many to choose from and that's always my dilemma, so I just thought I'd go for the shot out of a moving car, hey why not, it's unlikely I'll ever win a FS so I just go for the image that moves me the most.

I was listening to "Time by Bens Brother" at the time of uploading this photo and when it was time to enter the title of the photo he sung "A moment of beauty you stumble upon" and I thought 'thats it'. I'm pretty sure I have another photo with that title as well. That song is so inspirational.



I simply used the panning motion to take this, locked my camera on the tree then held it along as long as possible then fire the shutter using 1/20 th speed.

I couldn't figure out how you kept the tree in focus but everything else was blurry. I just read your explaination. You did a fantastic job with this and it should have scored much higher in my opinion. I gave it an 8. Amazing shot.

I gave this a 9. The tones are perfect and the blur of the background while keeping the main tree more in focus make this image spectacular. DPC members are a finicky bunch but I hope to see this in the top 10 at least! Good luck

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: An amalgam of sharpness and movement blur - like a linear tomogram... Panning from a moving vehicle? Whatever the technique, it is most effective. I really like your toning choices too with its wonderful greenish hue.

Critical stuff: Nothing

Overall: A very effective image - technique used to deliberate artistic intent. Well played.
