This photo was made at Occupy Washington, D.C. at McPherson Sq. A friend of mine and I were returning from dinner, and decided to stop by. I had shot in this area before, so was kind of familiar with the layout of things at the protest site.
The protesters had erected a large wooden structure, and the police were tearing it down during the time I made this photograph.
I saw these two start a conversation in a less-than-friendly manner, one heated over the police being there, and the other irritated by being worked overtime for a protest. Eventually, like most reasonable human beings, they found a common ground and started to discuss family. When I heard this change, I immediately moved into position to take several shots, this one in particular saying the most to me, and hopefully you!

While I already have a special connection to this image, as I feel it has been and continues to be the strongest entry in this aspiring PJ's portfolio, each and every comment I receive like this gives me a refill on inspiration. It's much more than just a "nice shot!"...it's like being slapped with a motivational hand to the face. For that, you have my endless thanks regarding your comments and compliments. |

Thanks, Shutter. As soon as I noticed these gentlemen talking, that's the exact goal I had in mine: putting a positive spin on things! Too much negativity in our day to day, and while there are certainly things to be upset about in the world, you have to count your blessings too...and laugh a little.
