An outtake from the HDR challenge. Really preferred it in BW and didn't think BW would do well in the challenge.

Dowsing rods took many forms, but were held loosely in the hands and used to aim the holder towards water in the west. They have also been employed to detect paranormal activity.
For me, they point wherever the person wants to go, and the shadows of these fenceposts across the snowfield point me towards one of my favorite ranges- The Medicine Bow mountains, where many of my other photos come from.

Gorgeous contrasts. I like how it looks like the clouds are seeping into the mountains (in the far back right). You are so lucky to be able to see this stuff :)

An interesting b&w with a lot of small detail here. I just with this site allowed for larger images so I could see some of that detail.

nice lighting makes for a nice landscape, looks great in mono though it feels as though it could do with some straightening, as for the 'dowsing rod' shadows personally I think I would have preferred a more panoramic crop excluding them though you could argue they help to lead the eye into the image, anyway, good luck
