 I did not head off specifically to shoot for this challenge but had my camera with me when visiting a place with a nice garden. The sun had also broken through for the first time in over a week. I didn’t have any time to properly compose the shot but more of a walk by shooting. The plant I found that I really wanted to enter resulted in a too shallow DoF so some of the important aspects of the flower were out of focus (I’ll stick them in the outtakes if I remember)

This is not a great shot either, especially with the busy background that I tried to manage with some heavy vignetting. However, the background to me adds to the image with the complimentary colours and setting the scene of a non-studio shot. I’m predicting a mid to low 5 with maybe a comment from someone commenting on all of the entries. Or as Spiffy would say “Meh”.

Why this flower particularly grabbed my attention was that it reminded me of the biblical image of the Burning Bush. I have no idea what the flower is called so if any of you botanists out there want to let me know it would be appreciated.

What a cool plant. I'm not so keen on the vignetting that is darkening large parts of your subject.
