this is incredible. it's like the crow has come to communicate with the person on the bench, or warn them. |

Stphq, surely being a big fan of the movie The Crow, as am I, you didn't have to check IMDB to know that Tim Burton had nothing to do with it :) The challenge called for images inspired by Tim Burton's film, not only necessarily sticking to scenes or posters from his movies. For me it was the feel and emotions evoked by Burton's haunting, moody style(think Sleepy Hollow), and IMHO this image does posses some of that.

hmm, being a fan of the crow,, i just double checked IMDB and tim burton had nothing to do with the crow... can't even find a film he's been involved in that has crow in the title.. and the challenge says "inspired by a tim burton FILM"
Can you enlighten us to the connection to the challenge description here please?? If there isn't one then surely, as good as this image is, it shouldn't get the ribbon.. if there is a connection then i shall gladly stand corrected...
As I say, lovely image though.. |

Oh, oh, oh... May be one of my favorite images of all time. How much did you pay the crow? This image has one of those ineffable qualities about it, minimal yet profound; thickly fogged but so very deep. LOVE IT!!! |

Just my opinion: you failed to imitate Tim Burton's crow. Yours is much more intimidating, especially considering its angle of attack with respect to the human figure. The thin lampposts do look like Tim Burton's figures, so overall you are doing fine. The casual placement of the lady's bicycles allow the viewers' imagination contemplate on how did we get here, and what comes next. |
