I like the candid look to this whether it was or not. Wish his features, especially his eyes, were lighter. I think that would give better balance to the image which, as it stands, almost seems more about the cigarette than the man. Maybe you could have titled it "Smoker"?

Excellent portrait with eye-contact that imparts some personality. I find myself wanting to crop a bit off the left, but that's just personal taste and no points deducted for that.

sorry but i don't see how this picture shows us that he is a poet other than the title.. the same picture could be titled with any other pastime this person has and it would still fail to portray any of those either.. other than smoking that is..
