I am lucky enough to own this piece of furniture. It's a small cabinet; I use it to store (most of) my photography equipment. This photo shows only a small part of the whole cabinet. I wish I could show the whole thing, but the amount of detail would be overwhelming for a photo. I had to crop down to this one element, which was hard to do, because the whole thing is just so cool.
I bought it for $30 from some neighbors who were moving to Florida. They had kept it in the same room as a parakeet for some unknown number of years; and in those years, this small cabinet had become covered with what I can only call parakeet "dust." It took at least ten hours to restore the color and gleam in the wood. I went through a lot of Pledge, Q-tips, and toothpicks.
I think I made the error of overprocessing this photo, but it's 14 minutes before deadline time, and it's too late to go back and try again.
It's a beautiful piece of furniture, though. I think it's the coolest piece of furniture I own. |
