 Taken on Mill Creek in Webster Park, Webster NY. The contest description states that Neon is also used to describe an extremely bright color. The sun rays streaming onto the lush green of this forest screamed out at me. Perhaps a bit of a stretch, but I'm hoping this will won't generate too much controversy.

Nothing particularly fancy about the editing. Shot in RAW (NEF) converted using dcraw with a slight boost in shadow detail and saturation. Final editing in GIMP was primarily USM (.3/100%/0).

i like the pic, wish it was a bit more contrasty, or not as bright. would be more compelling if the darks in the foreground were a bit darker. would make all the gorgeous neon leaves stand out a bit more as well. but cool anyway. 7

beautiful shot. i mean, really, this is a beautiful shot. and believe me, i'm really trying to be as open-minded as possible on this...but, i can't really stretch this to meeting the challenge. maybe if you threw in some wild post-processing (look at some of grigrigirl's basic editing entries).

quite an interesting shot, it somehow feels both peaceful cause of the sunlight shining through the tress, and at the same time, somewhat of a haphazard look, showing in the stream. good combo. 8

Excellent composition but not quite what I'd consider neon-like although the green is fairly bright. Photo seems a little oversharpened, too.

Its a great picture, and technically there's nothing wrong with it, but this just doesn't fit the challenge for me. Great work though :)
