My neighbor, Mark, is of the usher family, actually :-)

Never too late to comment I guess :). This was my 10 along with the blue winner. Because of the sheer weight and emotion it caused. Thank you (looking forward to a print version?).
ETA: such a shame that I'm the first one to fave it :).

This is one of those "grows on you" images. Can hang on my wall any time.

Beautiful, complex and absorbing. And, for all of its apparent simplicity, a very sophisticated vision. 7. Thank you.

A friend I came to comfort with story unfold
At end, a terrible secret Roderick to me told
Whitely, her wraith blew in to avenge with flare
her touch ushers ruin as the shades on the wall declare.

There is just something eerie about the shadows on the wall and the lady in white who stands alone. Knowing the story, the question becomes who exactly is the harbor of death in the composition: the white lady or the shadows on the wall who seem to be musicians whose musical sound may have the same power as the banshee's cry.

Looks like a steampunk holodeck. Interesting.

I'm fascinated. I feel like this is one of those tiny viewfinder scenes, like I'm peeking through a keyhole into a miniscule universe of cutouts.

A modernist approach to a classic. Nicely done. :)
