Cropped like this, the fence draws my attention. How about getting closer and focusing on a main subject.

It always happend (as far as i know) that, when the image is so small it gets voted down.
This is a really nice photo and good framing but i think you would have scored higher if the size was bigger. Probably heard that already :)

nice garden but a bit bland as a composition and too much competing detail - i.e. either too busy or not busy enough

I like the centered composition of weathered fence and shrubs but think it could use some more color, such as from a rose bush, or the like. In addition, I think the picture would have more impact if you shot it closer and were able to decrease the DOF so that the background weren't so distracting.

This image is really flat. It's not very colorful and vibrant. If you play with some of the color saturation it could be brought more to life.

Other then that there isn't a real strong focus on plant life so much as on the dead wooden fence. That's where I keep finding my eyes drawn to as it stands out from everything around it.

Nice subject. Well captured. Two suggestions: 1) This might have been more interesting and pleasing if you shot it early morning or late afternoon with longer shadows and more saturated colors; and 2) The composition with the middle post dead in the middle of the picture detracts a bit. Suggest moving to the left or right bit and taking the picture from a different height (higher or closer to the ground).

For me the fence looks to be the main subject, maybe from the other side it would have been more botany
